April 12, 1944 - July 24, 2021

The memorial Mass for William Henry North, 77-year-old Enid resident, will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2021, in St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Rev. John Herrera will officiate. Bill was cremated per his request and will be buried in a private family service in Bison Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Bill was born at Woodward Hospital on April 12, 1944, to Henry and Virgie (LeMarr) North. He graduated in 1962 from Mooreland High School. He worked with many companies in the oilfields. After the oilfields, he worked for the Garfield County in District 1 running the dozer where he retired in 2014. In April 2015, he was diagnosed with acute leukemia.

He attended St. Gregory's with his wife Karen for throughout their marriage, and in May 2015 he joined the church. His goal was to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on July 3, 2021, and he made that goal.

He had a long battle and fought hard through the last 6 years of his life.

He was preceded in death by both his parents, his sister Linda Johndrow and her husband Gary.

He is survived by his wife Karen, daughter Sonya, brother Robert and his wife Eudeana, and numerous family and friends.

The family requests no flowers, but donations may be made to Leukemia Research or St. Gregory's Good Samaritan Fund.

Condolences may be made to the family online at www.enidwecare.com.
