The funeral service for Michael Gerard Markes will be 10:00 A.M. Friday August 24, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Bison, OK with Reverend Edward Menasco officiating. Burial of Michael’s cremated remains will follow in Bison Cemetery. Recitation of the Rosary will be 6:00 P.M. Thursday, August 25, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Michael was born March 23, 1964 in Enid to Vincent and Marcella (Krejci) Markes and passed away August 18, 2018.

He grew up in Bison and attended area schools graduating from Pioneer High School in 1972. Shortly after graduation, Michael moved to Denver where he worked as a production manager for a silicone manufacturer. In recent years, he worked on the family farm in Bison.

Michael was an amazing artist and very musically talented.

Michael is survived by his parents; sisters, Francine Longmire and husband, Steve of Lone Wolf, OK; Carol Boyer and husband, Ron of Fredonia, KS; Karen Hawk and husband, James of Chandler, OK; brothers, Tim Markes and wife, Gale of Douglas, OK; Alan Markes of Drummond, OK.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Markes.
