Mass of Christian burial for Dorothy M. Horstman, 90year-old former Bison resident, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Rev. Edward Menasco will officiate. Burial will follow in Bison Cemetery under direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
Dorothy was born January 30, 1923, in Bison to H.H. Mack and Rose Marie (Reinkmeyer) Mack and died Thursday, January 16, 2014, in Greenbrier Nursing Home.
She attended Bison Catholic School.
On September 1, 1943, she married Arthur “Leo” Horstman in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. The couple made their home on the farm near Bison.
She was a farm wife and homemaker. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, where she was a member of Altar Society. She belonged to the neighborhood card club. She enjoyed quilt-making, crochet, polka dancing and traveling with Leo.
She is survived by her children, John Horstman and wife Sandy of Perry, Marvin Horstman and wife Deb of Bison, Glenda Lundy and husband Dick of Bison, and Charlotte Seng and husband John of Edmond; four grandchildren, Tanner Lundy and wife Sarah of Baxter, Minnesota, Loren Dillingham and husband Keith of Drummond, Daryl Horstman and wife Shandi of Bison, and Staci Amato and husband Nick of Oklahoma City; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three brothers, Lawrence, John, and Jim Mack; two sisters, Mary Jo Bendetti and Carolyn Hotson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leo, granddaughter Kristi, sister Virginia, and brother Harold.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hospice Circle of Love or Bison Cemetery.
