Funeral service for Ernest J. Fuksa, 91, formerly of Hennessey, will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hennessey. Father Joseph Arledge will officiate. Burial will follow in Bison Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Wake service is 7 p.m. today, May 23, 2013, at the funeral home.

Ernie passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Greenbrier Living Center. He was born June 14, 1921, in Bison to James J. and Rose (Hromas) Fuksa.

After serving his country in the U.S. Army overseas, he farmed on a farm that was on the Garfield/Kingfisher county line. He also was employed with Sid Smith Welding in Hennessey and Hackney Iron & Steel in Enid. Later, Ernie worked as a carpenter for Larry McClure.

On June 4, 1945, Ernie married Anna Linhart at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Bison, and together, would have celebrated their 67th anniversary this year.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Adolph, Stanley and Wilfred.

Ernie is survived by his loving wife, Anna; godchildren, Alma Reinert, Wilma Fuksa, Karen North and Patty Savage; two sisters-in-law, Kay Linhart and Carol Fuksa; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions can be given through the funeral home to St. Joseph Catholic Church of Hennessey.

April 13, 1924 - March 29, 2019

The mass of Christian burial for Anna Fuksa, who would have been 96 on her next birthday, will be 10:00AM Tuesday, April 2, 2019 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hennessey. Rev. Edward Menesco officiating. Burial will follow in Bison Cemetery. The recitation of the most holy rosary will be Monday evening at 7:00PM in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home with Deacon Tony Crispo leading.

Anna was born April 13, 1924 in Brainard, Nebraska to Michael and Marie (Stastny) Linhart and died Friday, March 29, 2019 in Greenbrier nursing home. She attended grade school in Nebraska until the family moved to Oklahoma where she attended St. Joseph's Catholic school in Bison.

On June 4th, 1945 she married Ernie Fuksa and the couple made their home on the farm in Hennessey. Anna worked first, for Williams Dry Goods then later for Marquis Studio and also at Oxford Dry Cleaners the Caboose, in Hennessey.

She was a long-time member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hennessey. She enjoyed Polka and Square dancing with Ernie. She also loved to play cards and did so until her eyesight failed.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the entire Greenbrier Staff, David Markes and Willard Patocka ......who visited her and brought her the Eucharist.

She is survived by Alma Reinert, Wilma Fuksa, Karen North, and Patty Savage,..... her god-daughters, two sisters-in-law, Carrol Fuksa and Kay Linhart. and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ernie, five sisters, two brothers and one infant brother.

Memorials may be made through Henninger-Hinson to St. Joseph's Catholic Church Building Fund.
