Clementine "Clemy" Jane Chermack Gabriel
February 2, 1936 - May 30, 2023

Clementine "Clemy" Jane Chermack Gabriel, 87, passed away May 30, 2023 in Enid. Mass of Christian Burial for Clementine "Clemy" Jane Gabriel, will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bison with Rev. Ed Menasco officiating. Inurnment will follow in Bison Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.

Clementine (Clemy) Jane Chermack Gabriel was born February 2, 1936 in Enid and lived her entire life in Garfield County. She graduated from Waukomis, and did secretarial work for a short time before marrying Ernest (Gabby) Gabriel at Bison in 1957. Clemy was a farm wife, who worked the fields and drove a wheat truck for many years and always cooked and baked meals during harvest and when cattle came in and left. In her spare time, she made many crafts and sold them at craft shows.

She was the unofficial "wedding planner" for the area because she loved to help. Many people speak about her doing the flowers for their wedding.

Clemy served as Garfield County OHCE president in 1969-1970 and was an active member for several years and she helped with Hennessey united activities. Clemy was an active member of the Bison Altar Society, serving many funeral dinners and made Thanksgiving dinners for the church. She provided banners and church decorations. She helped with Hennessey United activities by decorating for banquets and events, and shared her sewing and crafting skills with the Hennessey Police Reserve Angel Christmas projects for needy children. Clemy enjoyed sewing and crafting, and many children in the area have "Clemy Dolls" or other items made by her.

She was active in her children's school activities.

Clemy is survived by her husband Ernest, Son Randy (Martha) and daughters Susan, and Julie, one brother Neil Chermack, six grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Lillian Chermack, and brother Melvin Chermack.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation or to the donor's choice.
