The funeral for Opal J. Woodring, 85, of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery.
She was born Aug. 18, 1924, in Garland, Ark., to Jim C. and Mary Carrell Isham and died Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, in Enid.
She grew up in Arkansas and attended school in Sallisaw. She married Clarence E. Woodring in 1965 in Poteau and they made their home in New Mexico. She also previously lived in Colorado, Florida and Tulsa. She worked as a wool presser in the dry cleaner business and cooked at an elementary school cafeteria. She moved to Enid in 2003 and lived at The Methodist Home.
Surviving are two sons, Donald Perry of Enid and H. D. Perry of Roland; one daughter, Levada Galation of Gore; one brother, James C. Isham of Fort Smith, Ark.; four sisters, Doris Harding of Muldrow, and Marie Martin, Dorothy Rider and Shirley Harding, all of Sallisaw; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, one brother and one grandson.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hospice Circle of Love or Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Alzheimer’s division.
