Karen Sue Patterson
January 26, 1944 - February 12, 2019
Sue was born on January 26, 1944 in Enid to Carl Leroy Shoemaker and Mildred Pauline Watkins Shoemaker and passed from this life on February 12, 2019 in Enid. She grew up in Cleo Springs and graduated from Cleo Springs High School. She married Robert Patterson in 1962, and they made their home in Enid. Sue and Robert had four children, Robbi, Tammy, Misty and Russell. While their children were young, they moved to Lahoma for a few years, then to Watonga and back to Enid. She loved her grandkids and loved spending time with them. She also loved weekend trips and sightseeing and looked forward to the next one. Sue also loved gardening. Throughout her life and raising her children, Sue had a very personal relationship with God.
Those preceding her in death include her husband, Robert Patterson; her sisters, Glenda Hardin and Annette Barragree; her brothers, Gary and Carl Shoemaker; her parents, Carl Shoemaker Sr. and Mildred Shoemaker and daughter-in-law, Deana Patterson.
Survivors include her children, Russell Patterson, Misty Silver and husband, T.J., Tammy Atkinson and Rusty Atkinson, Robbi Baker and Jeff Baker; her sisters, Peggy Prochaska and husband, Jimmy and Helen Debusk and husband, Monte; her brother, Donald Shoemaker and wife, Zita; grandchildren, Lauralee Curtis, Christen Decker, Tabitha Bernitsky, Jesse Atkinson, Alyssa Atkinson, Corey Silver, Dalton Silver, R.J. Patterson, Justin Alley; great grandchildren, Alex Curtis, Anna Curtis, Lane Decker, Keenan Bernitsky, Kelsey Bernitsky, Chloe Atkinson, Sutton Atkinson, Austin Ferguson and Skylar Ferguson; in-laws, Donald and Patricia Walker, John and Leola Edwards, Janice Peters, Francis May and Edra Shuck.
Funeral service for Sue will be Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Lanman Chapel in Helena. Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery near Enid with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Helena.
