© Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma April 10, 2007 March 15, 1935 ~ April 9, 2007 The funeral for Oarn "Red" Oland Newman, 72, Enid, will be 2 pm Wednesday in Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev Steve Williams and Everett Ohls will officiate. Burial will follow in Bethany Cemetery. He grew up and attended school in Colony, moving to Enid in 1952. He married Rachel Stafford November 26, 1955, in Enid. He was a carpenter, building several homes in Enid. He lived in Nash and was on several projects in Midwest states as a construction foreman for Canam Construction, based in Edmond. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife Rachel, of the home; one son, Lindell of Waukomis; three daughters, Shelly Stanley of Jet, Robin Wagner of Spearville, Kansas, and Wendy Dawn Brindley of North Port, Florida; and six grandchildren. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Pioneer Skeleton Creek Fire Department. |

© Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service Enid, Oklahoma May 8, 1938 ~ February 15, 2011 Rachel Newman, 72, Enid OK, was born on May 8, 1938. in Cedardale, Oklahoma, the daughter of Orval and Eunice Courtney Stafford, and passed away on February 15 at her residence. She moved with her family to Enid where she attended school. In 1955, Rachel married Oarn "Red" Newman. He preceded her in death on April 9, 2007. Rachel was a member of the staff at Burgundy Place of Enid for many years and was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Rachel is survived by her son Lindell Newman of Waukomis OK; daughters Shelly Stanley of Jet OK, Robin Wagner of Spearville KS, and Wendy Brindly of North Port FL; eight grandchildren; brothers Travis Stafford of Wichita KS and Pete Stafford of Spearman TX. In addition to her husband, Rachel was preceded in death by her parents. |
