Cody Thomas Dotson
September 4, 1981 - May 8, 2023
A Celebration of Life Service for Cody T. Dotson, age 41, of the Pioneer Community will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the Pioneer Gym, with Rev. Tommy Donaldson officiating. A Private Family Burial will follow in the Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
Cody was born September 4, 1981, in Enid to Wesley and Connie (Sanders) Dotson and passed away May 8, 2023, as a result of an agriculture accident.
He attended Pioneer High School where he was on 3 State Football Championship teams, graduating in 2000. He attended OSU Okmulgee Tech, receiving his Applied Science certification. He started working for Ditch Witch as a technician and later went to work for Ditch Witch of Oklahoma in 2004. He went to work for CGB and worked for 10 years. Cody went to work as the Chief Operating Officer for Enterprise Grain Co, 81 Feed and Seed, and Sidwell Transportation in 2021.
Cody married the love of his life, Chelsi Pitman, whom he has known since they were in high school, on March 7, 2009, in Enid. He was the proud father of Emmy and Declan and enjoyed coaching all the sports they were involved with. Cody was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and was baptized in the creek north of the home place. Cody was a selfless, hard worker, fixing anything, and always providing for his family.
Cody is survived by his wife Chelsi, daughter Emmy and son Declan, parents Wes and Connie Dotson, brother Tucker Dotson and wife Whitney, sister Lezlie Meibergen, maternal grandmother Gloria Howery, paternal grandfather Stanley Dotson, his father and mother-in-law Tony and Ginger Pitman, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Oletta Dotson, maternal grandfather Leslie Sanders and step-grandfather Harold Howery.
Memorials may be made to Chelsi Dotson for his children's college education fund, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory serving as custodian of the funds.
