Funeral services for Shirley Marie Silvers, 74, Garber resident, will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 2, 2021 in the First Baptist Church of Covington with Pastor Phillip Gregg officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Black Bear Cemetery, Covington, under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.
Shirley Marie Silvers, 73 gained her wings and went to walk with the angels on July 27, 2021 in Enid Oklahoma. She was born on May 1st, 1948 to Joe Bill and Ophelia (Norris) Simpson. Shirley graduated from Garber High School in 1965. She married Jim Silvers on November 1st 1968 and they made their home in Enid, later moving back to the family farm in Garber. They celebrated 52 years of marriage in November 2020.
Shirley worked for Garber Public Schools as a cook for several years and was an exceptional wife and mother. Her cinnamon rolls were famous. Shirley enjoyed sewing and quilting, canning and cooking for her family and for church events. She sewed many dresses for children’s missions over the years. She attended the First Baptist Church of Covington OK.
Shirley is precede in death by her parents.
Survivors include Jim of the home; Sons Jimmy (Richele) of Enid, Justin (Stacey) of Fairmont. Grandchildren: Kade (Kami), Korbin (Mady), Chance, Ty, Devin, Edy, Jerica, Axel; Great Grandchild Kannon.
