Grand Mason

Black Bear Cemetery

Granville Mason died of tuberculosis at the home of his uncle, James B. Mason, 10 miles Southeast of Garber, Saturday morning, April 11, at the age of 30 years, seven months, and 21 days. He was born at Paintlick, Kentucky, June 20, 1883. His wife and child, his father and mother, and two sisters and two brothers, preceded him to the Great Beyond. And we understand that the same dreadful disease, tuberculosis, was the cause of most of their deaths. He came to Oklahoma two years ago and made his home with his uncle. Here he made many friends. He was always jolly, bright and optimistic.

The funeral service was held at the Mason school house, Monday, at 2:30 PM and the interment was made in the Baldwin Cemetery, Rev. Ludlow of the Methodist church officiating.
