Delmar Dean Wedel
January 10, 1941 - January 5, 2022

Funeral services for Delmar Wedel, 80 of Garber, will be Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 10:00 am in Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Black Bear Cemetery, northeast of Covington. Visitation with the family present will be Monday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

Delmar was born January 10, 1941 in Enid, Oklahoma to David and Vernice Johnson Wedel and died January 5, 2022 at his home with his family by his side.

He grew up in Garber and graduated from Garber High School. On August 22, 1960, Delmar married Kondra Baker in Enid and they made their home in Garber. He worked for Champlin and later Union Pacific as a mechanic until he retired. Delmar and Kondra moved to the farm in 1979, where they raised and raced Quarter Horses, raised cattle and was wheat farmers. He served on the Garfield Downs Board for many years.

He was preceded in death by son, Rex; parents and sister, Darlene.

Delmar is survived by his wife, Kondra; children, Jana (Jonathan) Warren, Reese Wedel and Rance Wedel, all of Garber; fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; brother, Donald Wedel; sister, Debbie (Chris) Wanzer; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made through Anderson-Burris to Black Bear Cemetery.
