William "Bill" Moon
July 18, 1944 - July 31, 2023
Mass of Christian Burial for William "Bill" Moon, 79 of Blackwell will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday August 12, 2023 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Blackwell with Rev Bala officiating. Private family burial will be in Blackbear Cemetery, southeast of Garber. Cremation arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.
Bill was born July 18, 1944 in Cherryvale, Kansas to Sylvester and Mary (Townsell) Moon and passed away July 31, 2023 in Blackwell.
He grew up in Blackwell and graduated from Blackwell High School. On May 22, 1965, Bill married Betty Polifka in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Blackwell. He went to college at Tonkawa, Phillips and Northwestern, where he received his Master's Degree in Education. Bill was a teacher, superintendent, and counselor in several schools in northern Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bob, and sister, Eleanor Dockers.
Bill is survived by his wife, Betty; two children and their spouses, Cathy and Dale Allen and Bobby and Christa Moon; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Allen and Katie Allen and fiancee, Mackenzie Erdley; brothers, Mike, Tony and wife, Marian and Charlie and wife Mary Moon; brother-in-law, Nick Dockers; sister-in-law, Jean Moon; uncle, John Townsell and wife, Sharon; special friend who was like a brother, David Kreifels; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
