Cassie was born in Lehigh, KS, May 4, 1890 to Fred F. and Eva Elisabeth (Hafner) Ehrlich. She died 27 Oct 1975 in the Newman Medical Center in Shattuck, OK.
She moved to the Shattuck area in about 1901 at the age of 11, with her family. As a young lady, she attended the Clinton German Seminary in MO for several years. This was a school operated by the Seventh Day Adventist church, of which she was a faithful member until her death. She graduated from Northwestern State Normal School after completing 4 years with a degree to teach in Aug. of 1921. After returning to Shattuck, she taught in a country school for a couple of years and worked for the George Schultz family.
Cassie married Alexander W. Meier, a widower with two small daughters Apr. 21, 1922. She and Alex had two more children: son Floyd "Cal" and daughter Norma Jean.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alex, and her children Floyd Calvin and Norma Jean; sisters Annie Laubhan and Mary Meier. She is survived by two step-daughters: Mrs. Georg Emanuel (Irene) Laubhan of Russell, KS and Mrs. Allen (Esther) Schoenhals of Shattuck, OK; three grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren; one sister Mrs. Sam (Leah) Arnbrecht of Shattuck, OK.
After services at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Shattuck with Merlin Starr, pastor officiating, she was buried in the Shattuck Memorial Cemetery aka I.O.O.F Lodge #303 Cemetery, Sec. 28 Twp 21 R25, located on the south side of Shattuck, Ok along Hwy 283.
