Died Nov 23, 1966 in Oklahoma City, OK

Alvin E. Meier was born to Fred and Eva (Wassenmiller) Meier on Dec. 11, 1901 in Shattuck and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church, later transferring his membership to St. Paul's Congregational church. The deceased was inducted into the U.S. Army June 17, 1942 and received a honorable discharge after serving for seven months in Ft. Knox, KY.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother; two sisters in infancy, Alvina and Rachel; three brothers, Fred, Alex and Herman. The deceased is survived by Mrs. Molly Meier, Jacob Meier, Mrs. Leah Kerbs, Mrs. Ruth Ehrlich, all of Shattuck; Olinda Karst of Bremerton, WA; Ophelia Fisher of Chattanooga, OK; one uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Gottfred Wassenmiller, numerous nephews and nieces and relatives.

Mr. Meier passed on to his eternal reward on 22 Nov. 1966 in the Veterans hospital in Oklahoma City, having attained the age of 64 years, 11 months, and 11 days. Buried in the Shattuck Memorial Cemetery aka I.O.O.F Lodge #303 Cemetery, Sec. 28 Twp 21 R25, located on the south side of Shattuck, OK along Hwy 283.
