Dorothy Fay Kerfoot, 97 year old Woodward resident, died Wednesday, August 26, 2020 in Woodward. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 31, 2020 at the Shattuck Cemetery with Reverend Janet Fitz officiating. Burial will follow with Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

On August 30, 1922, Dorothy Fay (Howe) Kerfoot together with her twin brother, were born at home to R.W. and Hattie (Jewett) Howe. Dorothy grew up in Arnett and was a 1940 graduate of Arnett High School and she furthered her education by attending nurses training. Dorothy was united in marriage to Robert Wells in Arnett, Oklahoma and they were blessed with two children: Robert and Gerry.

Over the years, Dorothy worked at various doctors offices, the Mooreland Hospital and the Woodward Hospital. She opened the Swap Shop in 1975 and operated it for 25 years. Dorothy also owned the White Cab Company for 16 years. She was united in marriage to Ernest Kerfoot in Clayton, New Mexico and they were blessed with one daughter Kimberly.

Dorothy was a member of the Arnett Methodist Church and later the Elm Street Baptist Church in Woodward. She loved spending time with friends and family and visiting her kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed seeing the cows and calves at the farm, being outside on the porch watching the donkeys and the horses in the pasture and the dogs and cats in the house. She just loved being with her family and she loved them dearly.

She is survived by her sons: Robert Wells of Guthrie, Gerry Wells and wife Paula of Fargo; one daughter, Kim Price and husband Darren of Woodward; grandchildren: Stephanie Haddock, Kendra Pierce and husband Cort, Kelsey Petty and husband Trinity, Cyndy Canan and husband Robert, Gerry Don Wells and Javon, Lisa Garcia and husband Juan; great-grandchildren: Kendra Young and husband Nick, Mariah Shillingstad and husband Jesse, Alicia Garcia, Kaitlyn Woodruff and husband Josh, Jayton Petty, Augustus Petty, Kenlee Pierce, Max Canan, Ettalyn Canan, Caetlyn Canan; great-great-grandchildren: Larken Young, Jemma Young, and Jackson Woodruff; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Hattie Howe, brothers: Ralph, Edgar, Loyd, Louis, one sister Myrtle McCartor, granddaughter Erin Wells Glasson and great-grandson Jordan Wells.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
