Freda K. Deal, 94 year old resident of Shattuck, OK, passed from this life on July 5, 2016 in Oklahoma City. Freda was born to Fred and Rosa (Young) Fritzler in Hooker, OK. Freda grew up in Hooker and attended public schools there until the family moved to a farm south of Tangier. On July 31, 1946 Freda married Roy Deal in Higgins, TX and to this union three children were born Kathy, Joleen, and Charles.
Freda and Roy lived on their family farm southwest of Shattuck until 1982 and then they moved into the town of Shattuck. Freda worked as a cook at Newman Memorial Hospital for many years and after retiring went on to be a cook at the Shattuck Nursing Home. Freda was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Shattuck, OK. In her spare time, Freda enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She will always be famous for her home made angel food cakes and cherry pies. She was also a member of the Calico Club. Freda will be dearly missed by her friends and family.
Freda is preceded in death by her husband Roy Deal; parents Fred and Rosa Fritzler; her brother Herman Fritzler; and two sisters Maria Feil and Lydia Faust. She is survived by her two daughters Kathy Deal of Shattuck and Joleen Weese and husband Geary of Cordell, OK; one son Charles Deal of Weatherford, OK; five grandchildren Shawn Weese and wife Kim, Heath Weese, Dusty Weese, Colby Deal, Brady Deal; two step-grandchildren Casey Reynolds and Bobby Reynolds; one great grandson Christopher Weese; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
