THEODORE APPEL

7 Mar 1919 - 6 Dec 1997

Shattuck – The funeral for Theodore Appel, 78, will be at 2 PM today in Christ Lutheran Church at Shattuck. The Rev. Gary McClellan will officiate. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery, southwest of Shattuck. Arrangements are by Mason Funeral Home.

He was born March 7, 1919, on the family homestead, southwest of Shattuck, to Ludwig and Katherine Herman Appel and died Saturday, December 6, 1997, at his home after a lengthy illness. As a young boy, he attended the Ivanhoe Country School and helped his parents with the family farming operation.

On October 13, 1923, he married Oleta Fochi in the old Lutheran parsonage, southwest of Shattuck.

Surviving are his wife, Oleta of the home; six daughters, Barbara Grace of Shattuck, Betty Cross of Weatherford, Kathy Stevens, Nina Tolle, Vera Mitchell and Donna Bunch, all of Shattuck; one brother, Herman of Shattuck; 10 grandchildren; and four great – grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five sisters, four brothers and one grandson.
