The services celebrating the life of Mrs. Linda Jo Jones, 73, of Pond Creek, will be held privately in the Harmon Cemetery, Harmon, Okla.
She was born on Jan. 6, 1943, in Enid, Okla., to Leo and Marvel Huen Darling and passed from this life on Dec. 14, 2016. Linda was raised and educated in Pond Creek, graduating from Pond Creek High in 1960. She married James O. "Big Jim" Jones on June 4, 1964, in Higgins, Texas. She worked as a dietary manager for various hospitals and nursing homes. She retired in 2005 as the dietary manager for the Community Health Center in Wakita. She enjoyed her work as was a hard and dedicated worker. She always enjoyed fishing.
She is survived by her son, Mike Read and wife, Dawn, of Pond Creek; daughter, Jamie Mingus and husband, David, of Pond Creek; four grandchildren, Cooper and Baylee Mingus, Danika and Berkley Read; sister, Elsie Darling of Jacksonville, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Community Health Center of Wakita with Enid Cremation Services serving as custodian of the funds.
