Services will be held Friday October 30, 2015 at 10:30 am at the Church of the Nazarene, Harmon, Oklahoma with burial following at the Harmon Cemetery, Harmon, Oklahoma.

Clydene Chloe Kopf Hunter, 85 year old resident of Autumn Leaves Senior CenteEdmond, OK passed from this life Sunday October 25, 2015. Clydene was born in her parent’s home on the family farm east of Harmon, Oklahoma. She arrived on July 4th, 1930, making quite a Bang!

She attended Parkman Community School, though the 8th grade. It was 1 ˝ miles from home and she rode her favorite horse “Starr” to and from school. Clydene attended High School at Arnett Public School through her Sophmore year and part way through her Junior year. She quit school to get married to Thomas Charles Hunter on the 23rd of December, 1947. Tom and Clydene made their first home West of Higgins, where they worked ranching and farming.

On September 20th, 1948 their first daughter, Charlene Ann was born in Shamrock, Texas. Shortly after her birth Tom went to work for the Santa Fe Railway, and moved to Shattuck, Oklahoma, where they lived in a Railway Box Car, just off the main tracks. While Tom worked for the Railroad, Clydene was a homemaker and loving mother. In the fall of 1950, Tom and Clydene moved to Waynoka, Ok. Where Karen Sue was born, July 31, 1951. Tommy Lynn came along on October 9, 1953. During this time the family of 5, plus 1 dog, lived in a one bedroom house. On occasion, siblings of both Tom and Clydene came and lived with the family.

In 1950 the family moved from the 1 bedroom house, into a 3 bedroom home, and no one knew what to do with all that space! On July 24th, 1960 Gregory Charles was born giving us all the “Little Brother we always wanted. Once again we moved, this time from Waynoka to Sharon, OK. so Tom could be home with the family more often & live closer to extended family.

After moving to Sharon, Ok. Clydene cleaned houses for various people in Woodward. In 1966 Tom and Clydene purchased the Sharon Drug Store, in Sharon, Ok. Tom helped Clydene get things going in the morning, before he went to his job. They ran Sharon Drug until 1971 when they sold it, and Clydene went to work at the Fruit of the Loom Factory in Woodward, making T-Shirts. She enjoyed the people she worked with and called them friends! She worked there until its closing. After Tom’s sudden death in 1980, Clydene worked at “Your Store” on the south edge of Woodward, helping her daughter Karen & husband John, who owned and operated the store. They prepared and served a lot of home cooked food for their customers.

In the spring of 1984, Clydene was united in marriage to Leo Kopf. The ceremony took place at her daughter Charlene and Duke’s home in Woodward. They made their home in Canton, Oklahoma, living there until Leo’s retirement. Clydene and Leo moved to Enid, Ok. There they lived and it was a “hub” for traveling with friends and relatives. After Leo died in 2011, Clydene moved to Woodward, establishing her new home at Providence Place. Being so close to family she enjoyed meals and fun times with family, spoiling her grandchildren, and spending time with good friends.

In 2013 Clydene moved to Edmond, Oklahoma to be closer to her girls, living there until her death.

Clydene loved Cooking, Sewing, and spending time with her Family, especially her grandchildren and later on, her Great Grand Children!

Clydene grew up being a part of the Nazarene Church. Later in life, she enjoyed going to church with her children and grandchildren at the Catholic Church in Woodward and Edmond. There was always a scrumptious meal afterwards!

Clydene was preceded in death by her parents Willie and Francis Clifft, sister Gloridene Hunter, brothers Billy, Darrel, and Roland Clifft, brothers-in-law Gene Hunter, and Leroy Harper, sister-in-law Alice Clifft.

Clydene is survived by Children Charlene and Husband Duke Halley, Karen Wardwell and Husband John, Tom Hunter and wife Mary, and Greg Hunter and wife Pam; sisters Wilma Harper, and Charlotte Feil and husband Bill; grandchildren Monica Wardwell, Steffanie Halley, Kristen Kallio, Brian Hunter, Jennifer Thompson, Eric Hunter, Tim Wardwell, Chad Hunter, and Brook Hunter, nine Great grandchildren and many great Friends.
