Bobbie Ruth Merry Harmon, 79-year-old resident of Woodward, OK, passed from this life on January 11, 2017 in her home. Bobbie was born December 23, 1937 to Glenn and Violet (Dunham) Harris south of Harmon in Ellis County. She was raised on the family farm in the Harmon area and attended Vici Public Schools. After high school, she attended Beauty School in Clinton and Woodward.
Bobbie lived in the western Oklahoma region, where she served as a waitress for many years in Higgins, TX, Vici, and Woodward. She also worked at the Super Star Carwash for 15 years and Kevin’s Service Center a few years. Bobbie was also a Beauty Operator and sold Jafra Cosmetics for many years. In April 2004, she married Bobby Joe (B.J.) Harmon and became a homemaker.
Bobbie loved to run cattle. She ran cattle for ten years before an illness caused her to have to stop. She always said she enjoyed it very much and missed doing it. Bobbie was a member of Crown Heights Baptist Church in Woodward. She was saved March 11, 1973 and baptized March 18, 1973 at Crown Heights Baptist Church. Bobbie also enjoyed crafts and sewing.
Bobbie is preceded in death by her husband Bobby Joe (B.J.) Harmon, parents Glenn and Violet Harris, and one brother.
She is survived by her children Vickie Evans and husband Jim, Sheena Sherrill and husband Rick, and Michael Merry and wife Yulonda; seven grandchildren Chris Evans and wife Jill, Cody Evans and wife Dara, Maranda Merry, Malerie Merry, Mitzi Merry, Carissa Hernandez and husband Ray, and Courtney Sherrill; ten great-grandchildren Alexis, Addison, and Dagan Evans, Brason and Beckham Evans, and Evaline Bledsoe, Jade DiMayo, Abbigiel and Carter Hernandez, and Cobe Sherrill; five sisters, one brother, and many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
