Loydetta Joyce Collar

April 30, 1945 ~ June 26, 2019

Loydetta Collar of Cherokee, Oklahoma passed away on June 26, 2019. Her service will be held Monday, July 1, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Cherokee. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Harmon Cemetery in Harmon, Oklahoma. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. www.lanmanmemorials.com Facebook; Lanman Funeral Home Inc.

Loydetta was born April 30, 1945, in Shattuck to Loyd and Izetta Collar. She was raised on a dairy farm near Arnett and graduated from Arnett High in 1963. She obtained Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. After operating a beauty shop in Fargo and teaching in Colorado, she returned to Woodward, retiring as a District Supervisor for the Juvenile Services Division in 2002 after 20 years of government service.

After retirement, she moved to Cherokee to be near family and remained a resident until her death.

Loydetta was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Glennis Porter, and brother, Clifton Collar.

She is survived by her brother, Gary Collar and wife, Joyce of Kingston; brother-in-law, Morris Porter of Lambert; numerous nieces; nephews; cousins, and other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Cherokee First United Methodist Church New Building Fund or the Harmon Cemetery in Loydetta's memory through the funeral home.
