Clara Jane Alexander, 80 year old Woodward resident, died Friday, March 11, 2016 in Woodward. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at the Harmon Cemetery in Harmon.

Clara Jane (Hanlon) Alexander was born January 17, 1936 in Arnett, Oklahoma, to Thomas and Gertude (Meunier) Hanlon. She grew up in and around the Arnett area where she graduated from Arnett High School. On June 1, 1971, she married Gerald Lewis Alexander in Seiling, Oklahoma and they made their home in Woodward. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as a Group Chief Operator.

Clara loved all outdoor activities and taking care of their horses and cats. She crocheted many beautiful afghans and gave many away. She was a member of the St. Peters Catholic Church in Woodward.

Clara is survived by her husband Gerald Alexander of the home; two sons, Martin Ray Alexander and wife Carol, Curtis Wayne Alexander; a grandchild, Alicia Alexander; a brother, Jim Hanlon; sister, Cathryn Brown; special friends Jack and Evelyn McAleney, many relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Lisa Gayle Knott; brothers, Francis Hanlon, Pat Hanlon, John Hanlon, Ed Hanlon and Thomas Jr. Hanlon; a sister, Christine Kay Hanlon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Cancer Society or WOOF Animal Pet Rescue with the funeral home accepting the contributions on behalf of the family.
