Larry Francis Chapman, 76-year-old resident of Gage, OK., passed from this life on June 4, 2019. Larry was born on June 25, 1942 in Pierce City, MO. to Franklin Squire and Francis Edna (Boggs) Chapman. He lived in Pierce City, MO. with his family, attending Pleasant Valley Elementary School in Lawrence County, MO. and Pierce City High School. When he was 18, Larry joined the U.S. Army National Guard, he was called to active duty for a time before returning to spend the remainder of his service obligation in the National Guard. He was honorably discharged in 1962 having attained the rank of E-3 Private First Class. Following his service in the military, Larry moved to Arlington, TX. In 1964, he married Linda Kay Clanton in Dallas, TX. and to this union was born Rita Ann, Lisa Kay, and Cindy Ivohn Chapman. On January 8, 1984, Larry married Wanda Faye Brawner in Las Vegas, NV. and four children, Stephanie Jo, Wanda Jo, Sherman and Joe Ray joined the home. Larry was a pipeline welder and the family traveled coast to coast where jobs were offered. He was a sports fan and enjoyed watching his favorite teams, the St. Louis Cardinals and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Larry was a member of the Presbyterian Church and was baptized when he was 11 years old at the Bethal Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Sarcoxie, MO.
Preceding Larry in death are his parents Frank and Francis Chapman; wife Wanda Chapman; and daughter Cindy Chapman.
He is survived by his daughter Rita McManus of Guthrie, OK.; daughter Lisa Sobolik and husband Paul of Ada, OK.; daughter Stephanie Findley of Gage, OK; daughter Wanda Jo Brawner of Fairview, OK.; son Sherman Brawner and wife Cathy of Sachse, TX.; son Joe Ray Brawner of Kansas City, MO.; brother Dean Chapman and wife Dana of Gage, OK.; brother Lee Chapman and wife Gayle of Monett, MO.; brother Richard Chapman and wife Diane of Gage, OK.; brother Terry Chapman and wife Dianna of Cherokee, OK.; brother Calvin Chapman and wife Melissa of Aurora, MO.; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
