Evelyn Marie (Thomas) Byers, 74 year old resident of Gage, OK, passed from this life on February 8, 2020 in Gage. Evelyn was born on March 13, 1945 to Arley and Leona (McKenna) Thomas in May, OK. She attended May Public Schools until the 10th grade. On May 28, 1962, Evelyn married the love of her life, Richard Forrest Byers, and to this union was born one son, John Mead Byers. The family resided in Gage.
Evelyn was a care giver and an active member of the Thousand Hills Cowboy Church in Woodward, OK. She enjoyed the senior citizens, bingo, auctions and garage sales. She was an avid collector and enjoyed going to rodeos with Richard and spending time with family.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Richard Byers, father Arley Thomas, brother Kenneth “Tuffy” Thomas, sister Alberta Jones, and sister Jean Stophone.
Evelyn is survived by her mother, Leona Thomas; son John Byers and wife Irma of Woodward, OK; brother Donald Thomas and wife Karen of Alva, OK; brother Eldon Thomas and wife Kathy of Woodward, OK; brother Dennis Thomas of Woodward, OK; brother Vernon Thomas of May, OK; brother Glen Thomas and wife Violet of Woodward, OK; brother Bob Thomas and wife Kay of Enid, OK; sister Nancy Debeer and husband Carl of Gage, OK; sister Ann “Aldena” Moody of Gage, OK; grandchildren Dustin Byers and Jakayla Byers; great-grandchildren Caleb Jobe, Booklyne Byers, and Austin Byers; nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
