Hervey Edward Thomas

March 17, 1885 ~ February 3, 1961

Funeral services for H. E. Thomas were held Monday, February 6, 1961 in the Byron Mason's Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Edward E Wolfe officiaiting. Burial was in Fargo cemetery.

Hervey Edward Thomas was born in Lodive, Va. on March 17, 1885 and died Friday, February 3, 1961 at the home of his daughter of an apparent heart attack.

His family moved to Grant County Oklahoma in 1902.

He married Phillipine Florence Arnold on Feb 21, 1911 in Vining Oklahoma.

They lived in Grant County until 1929 when they moved to a farm near Fargo. He had been living with his children since the death of his wife, Feb. 5, 1958.

Survivors include six sons Melvin L. , Delbert Wayne and Norman L. Thomas all of Fargo; Orville Thomas of Follett Texas. Arley E. Thomas of May, and Floyd L. Thomas of Hazelton, Kans.; three daughters Mrs. H. T. Jahay of Hazelton, Kans., Mrs. Fred Wilcoxson of Woodward , and Mrs. Lynn Woods of Gage ; 37 grandchildren ; one brother FrankThomas and one sister Mrs. J. V. Johnson both of Jet.


Phillipine Florence (Arnold) Thomas

February 01, 1892 ~ February 05, 1958

Funeral services were conducted Saturday for Mrs. Phillipine Florence Thomas with Rev. J. K. Wade officiating. Burial was in the Fargo cemetery .

She was born February 1, 1892 at Hollyrood Kansas and died Wednesday in a Moreland, Okla. hospital following an extended illness.

Mrs. Thomas moved to Grant County with her parents in 1895. On February 20, 1911, she married Harvey Edward Thomas.

They had been former residents of Western Grant County and had made their home near Fargo Oklahoma for the past 29 years.

Survivors include her husband of the home ; six sons Melvin, Delbert and Norman all of Fargo; Orville of Follett Texas. Arley of May, and Floyd of Hazelton, Kans.; three daughters Mrs. H. T. Jahay of Hazelton, Kans., Mrs. Fred Wilcoxen of Woodward , and Mrs. Lynn Woods of Gage ; four brothers Ernest Arnold of Anthony , Garrett A. Arnold of Jet , Isaac Arnold of Sand Creek , and Jesse Arnold of Wray ,Colo. ; three sisters, Mrs. George Arnold of Keenesburg, Colo., Mrs. Alfred Cox pf Ray Ariz., and Mrs. Frank Thomas of Jet and 33 grandchildren.
