Faye Oliver, 89 year old former Woodward area resident, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2022 in Sulphur, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2022 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Bob Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in the Fargo Cemetery.
Lela Faye (Thompson) Oliver was born July 29, 1933 in Fargo, Oklahoma to Milford and Leona (Hendren) Thompson. She grew up in Fargo and attended Tangier school and graduated from Fargo High School.
Faye was united in marriage to John Oliver on February 10, 1978 in Woodward, Oklahoma. They made their home in Woodward. Faye worked as a Waitress and a Nurses Aide for quite a few years. She loved painting, ceramics and dancing. Her favorite times were spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her family and they will miss her dearly.
She is survived by two sons: Neal Freeman and wife Dianne, Rich Freeman and wife Malinda; one daughter, Jovonna White and husband Jack; grandchildren: Shawnda Pummel, Tyson Freeman, Amy Miller, Austin White, and Justin White; 12 great-grandchildren: Rylan Cope, Peyton Freeman, Logen Freeman, Riley Garner, Kayce White, Jayme White, Brayde White, Conner Brown, Braxton White, Kreedyn Pummel, Hope Freeman, and Ryan Miller; one brother, John Thompson; sister-in-law, Alma Thompson; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, husband John Oliver, grandson Ryan Freeman, sisters: Ethyl Peterson, Lorene Sousa, Verla Lucas, Jewel Rigsby, Ruth Rigsby, Doris Rigsby, Ona Harris, Mary Bettis, and one brother Milford Thompson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Artesian Home in Sulphur with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
