Harold was born January 29, 1921 outside of Fargo, Oklahoma, in Woodward County. He was the son of George J. and Lydia Meiers FAUST. He died on Wednesday, February 18, at St. Mary's Hospital in Enid, Oklahoma at the age of 88.
He attended Fargo public schools and graduated in 1939. He attended John Brown University at Siloam Springs, Arkansas on a scholarship provided by Union Equity of Enid, Oklahoma and graduated in 1942, majoring in business and grain marketing.
Harold married Billye Jo ROBINSON on September 15, 1942. They celebrated 66 years of married life together. He served 39 months in the U.S. Air Force.
He managed Fargo CO-OP for 12 years, then the family moved to Enid, Oklahoma where he worked for Union Equity and the Oklahoma Grain Dealers Association. In 1959 they moved to Shattuck, Oklahoma where he managed Shattuck Grain Elevator from 1959 to 1983. After retirement he worked for Beaver Express for several years.
During his years in Shattuck he served on many civic and community boards, including the School board and Newman Memorial Hospital Board, and Shattuck Chamber of Commerce. During his lifetime he was active in the Fargo and Shattuck United Methodist Churches, serving in many leadership roles.
Survivors include his wife Billye Jo, of Enid, Oklahoma; a daughter, Brenda Jo FAUST of Enid, Oklahoma; 2 sons, Dan H. FAUST and wife Sandy of Charleston, Missouri and Tom D. FAUST and wife Jo Ann of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 3 grandchildren, Danielle FAUST and Laura FAUST of Nashville, Tennessee, and Pandora PETERSON of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at the Fargo United Methodist Church in Fargo, Oklahoma, with Pastor Timothy Heemstra officiating. Interment was in the Fargo Cemetery under the direction of the Mason Funeral Home of Shattuck, Oklahoma.
Graveside service for Billye Faust, 89-year-old Enid resident, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2012, in Fargo Cemetery, Fargo, Okla., under the direction of Carl Mason Funeral Home.
Billye was born July 23, 1922, and died Sunday, March 25, 2012, at Greenbrier Nursing Home.
She is survived by three children.
