Edwin Glen Crouse was born on November 24, 1941 to Glen F. and Elsie (Teeters) Crouse in a house one block west of the Fargo Methodist Church. The first five years of his life Mr. And Mrs. Glen Crouse lived in both Fargo and Woodward.

On April 9, 1947 Mr. Crouse was driving with his parents in Woodward and everyone was involved in the Woodward Tornado on that date. During this event, Edwin was kept from major injury because his mother tucked him under her during the actual time of the tornado was passing overhead. Because of this safety position Mr. Crouse only received a cut on his right hand; he carried the scar on that hand the rest of his life. It was after the Woodward Tornado that the family purchased the property in Fargo.

While in elementary school Mr. Crouse carried the Daily Oklahoman newspaper. This job provided spending money for him and his brother Dwight during their school years. During the summer months, Mr. Crouse would work for several local farmers driving a farm tractor to earn extra money while his brother Dwight delivered the newspaper. When he was 16 years old he bought his first car, a 1941 Ford sedan from Spike Watkins. Many happy hours was spent driving that car on family outings. Everyone remembers their first car and the memories that were made with it. Mr. Crouse graduated from Fargo High School in 1960. For several years before this time while going to high school he was employed at the Fargo Farmers Cooperative. During the several months on a part-time basis working each evening and all day Saturday. In January of 1961, he hitched a ride to Bethany Nazarene College in Bethany, Oklahoma and enrolled as a college freshman. He later transferred to Southwestern Oklahoma State University. In 1964 his mother died and this was a tremendous blow to him because she was always there to encourage him to continue on with his education. Mr. Crouse did continue his education and graduated from Southwestern in 1965. While teaching at Watonga he received his Master of Teaching Degree in the summer of 1967 at Southwestern.

In 1965 he was united in marriage to Adra Stein in Watonga, Oklahoma. He was Superintendent of Oakwood Public Schools for two years and continued his education by taking classes at OSU and Oklahoma University. He was the Noble County School Superintendent for nearly 15 years through the 1970's and mid 1980's. Mr. Crouse moved back to northwestern Oklahoma as Superintendent of Schools at Gage. Later on he was employed by the Woodward Public Schools in the Transportation Department. After working for the Woodward Schools for about two years, Mr. Crouse was employed as the Assistant Director of Transportation of the Noble Public Schools for a couple before moving to Sallisaw, Oklahoma to become the Principal at the Gans Public School.

In July of 1993, he was united in marriage to Virginia Bain from Madill, Oklahoma. Soon after this marriage Mr. and Mrs. Crouse accepted the Superintendent/Principal job at Grandview School. On July 1, 1995, Mr. and Mrs. Crouse moved back to home to Fargo to his roots and began a new career. He was a correctional officer at William S. Key from 1997-2011. He was an officer and educator at William S. Key.

He always enjoyed telling stories over coffee at Ritas, his westerns and strawberry shakes.

Mr. Crouse is survived by his daughter Dana Everett and husband Jerry of Enid; one brother Dwight Crouse and wife Lavina of Fargo; one granddaughter Jalyn Everett of Enid; one grandson Petty Officer Second Class Jenson Everett of San Diego, California; nieces, Tonya Rowe and husband Tom of Enid, Kristi Goff and husband Mike of Fargo; nephew Greg Crouse and wife Desiree of Leedey and grand-nephews, Hunter Goff and Chandler Hofen.
