Born Jan 6, 1880 in Galka, Volga, Russia
Died Sept. 20, 1966 in Woodward, Woodward Co., OK

When 19, Katherine Schick came with her parents Fredrick and Susanna (Brunner) Schick to the US, settling on a farm near Lincolnville, KS. On Jan. 20, 1901, Katherine married Georg BATT, a widower with four children. She raised 3 of them, as the 4th, Hilda had been given up for adoption. Five sons were born to this union, three of whom died in infancy. The Batt's also raised a niece, Frieda Schick (Mrs. George Deal).

In 1911, Katherine was baptized by Rev. J.E. Ehrhorn. funeral was held at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Shattuck, OK with George E. Conway, Jr officiating. Final resting place, Ebeneezer Baptist Cem., Shattuck, OK.
