PATSY RUTH "PAT" HOLT FOLKS

3 Aug 1931 - 21 Oct 2002

Pat Folks, 71, of Amarillo died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Westview Christian Church with the Rev. Charles Waugh, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Debolt Cemetery in Arnett, Okla., by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.

Mrs. Folks was born in Higgins to Beulah "Bill" and Kenneth Holt. She was a graduate of Arnett High School in Arnett. She married Tom Folks in 1957 at Arnett. Mrs. Folks had been a resident of Amarillo for 33 years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family.

She served as patient services coordinator at High Plains Baptist Hospital before her retirement in the 1980s. Mrs. Folks was an active member of Optimist Club. She was a mentor for many years at Horace Mann Junior High School as well as this year at Mesa Verde Elementary School.

She was active in Amarillo Women's Bowling Association for nearly 30 years and was an active community volunteer. She bought and collected more than 200 stuffed animals for the last three years that she donated to "The Bridge" and Evelyn Rivers Christmas Project.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Tommy I. Folks Jr. of Amarillo; three daughters, Burma Bacher and husband, Cecil, of Fort Worth, Mary Folks and husband, Mike Williams, of San Angelo and Carol Underwood-Kruse and husband, Alan, of Arlington; three granddaughters; and four grandsons; and a host of wonderful friends.
