Gladys Darlene (Wicker) Branstetter

Gladys Darlene Branstetter of Arnett, OK passed from this life on July 7, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Darlene was 75 years, 4 months, and 27 days at her passing. She was an incredible mom, amazing grandmother, and dedicated friend to many.

Darlene was born to Carl and Beatrice Wicker and raised in the Laverne, OK area. She attended Laverne Public Schools where she was an avid, passionate, and outstanding basketball player. After graduating high school, Darlene attended cosmetology school in Enid, OK and began beautifying most of NW Oklahoma before settling in Arnett.

Darlene married Larry Don Branstetter at the United Methodist Church of Arnett on October 11, 1963. They made their home in Arnett, OK, where this union was blessed with three children; Casey Don, Craig Wilson, and Cynnamon Jane.
Darlene worked as a beautician for 35 plus years. She loved square dancing, creating ceramics, visiting her grandchildren and watching Oklahoma Sooner sports “Boomer Sooner.” Darlene was an active member of the United Methodist Church of Arnett, where she was involved in the United Methodist Women’s generous activities.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents Carl & Beatrice Wicker. Also, her in-laws Clark and Agnes Branstetter. She is survived by husband Larry Branstetter of the home in Arnett, OK; children, Casey Branstetter of Dallas, TX; Craig Branstetter and wife Lisa of Watonga, OK, and Cynnamon Schleff of Washington, OK; sister Glenda Martin of Arnett, OK; Brothers Jack Wicker and wife Jo of Enid, OK, Bill Wicker and wife Sherril of Guymon, OK, and Larry Wicker and wife Susan of Laverne, OK; three grandchildren, Hunter Branstetter, Jacob Schleff and Skylar Branstetter, plus many nieces, nephews family members, and a host of friends.

Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church "The Gardens" in care of Shaw Funeral Home, P.O. Box 276, Vici, OK 73859.
