Wanda Louise Allen, 92-year-old resident of Arnett, OK, passed from this life on April 19, 2017 in Woodward, OK. Wanda was born May 27, 1924 to George and Pearl Gillaspia in Wichita Falls, TX. She attended schools in Texas, California, Arizona, Oklahoma and graduated high school in New Mexico. She later attended and graduated beauty school in Wichita Falls from 1954-1955.
Wanda met Lon William Allen and they were married on October 31, 1943 in Wichita Falls and to this union two daughters were born Barbara Jean and Sheryl Ann. They lived in Terrell, TX, Archer City, TX and in the winter of 1963 made their home in Arnett, OK. Wanda was a hair stylist for 60 years before retiring. She enjoyed horse racing and casinos but most of all she loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchild.
Wanda is preceded in death by her husband Lon Allen, parents George and Pearl Gillaspia, and three brothers Ira, Troy, and Glen Gillaspia.
She is survived by her two daughters Barbara Cearley and husband Jack of New Braunfels, TX, and Sheryl Tolle and husband Dwight of Arnett, OK; four grandchildren Carl Cearley and wife Jane of Laird, CO, Kevin Cearley and wife Nicole of Austin, TX, Brandon Coykendall and wife Brandy of Arnett, OK and Crystal Love and husband Ty of Arnett, OK; two brothers Jerry Gillaspia of San Antonio, TX and Zerl Gillaspia of Johnson City, TX; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many extended family and friends.
