She grew up in the Ioland Community south of Arnett attending Redden School and graduating Arnett High School with the Class of 1954. On December 20, 1954, Geraldine was married to the love of her life John Wendell Turner in Clovis, NM. They moved for a short period of time to Grinnell, KS but returned to Vici to establish their permanent home on Turner Farms, west of Vici. Geraldine spent much of her time taming wild animals and attending to her pets. She loved taking care of family and all her hired help. She cooked for everyone and never let anyone go home hungry. She worked hard on the farm feeding pigs, milking cows, and farming.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John Turner in 2008 as well as her parents Faye and Arnold Brown, and two brothers, Jerome and Pete Brown.
Those loved ones remaining are her sons, Wesley Turner of Vici, OK and Dennis Turner and wife Mona of Mooreland, OK; four grandchildren, Braden Leatherbury of Vici, Fawn Ross of Vici, Sandy Turner and daughter Charlie of Fargo, OK, and Katie Lyon of Mooreland; eight great- grandchildren; two special friends, Betty Drake and Carolyn Swallow, as well as a lifetime of other relatives and friends.
