Hettie Imo (Cain) Stevens
June 29, 1935 ~ March 07, 2021

Hettie Imo (Cain) Stevens, daughter of Purl Lawrence and Ruby Irene (Buck) Cain was born at Vici, OK. on June 29, 1935 at the home of her grandparents, John and Hettie Buck.  She passed from this life March 7, 2021 at the age of 85 years, 8 months and 8 days at Vici, OK.  Hettie was raised in the Vici community and received her formal education in the Vici Public School system.  At the age of eleven, she was baptized and became a member of the Vici First Christian Church where her mother, Ruby, was a faithful member.

Following high school Hettie attended nursing school at Woodward, OK. receiving her LPN degree.  She was a dedicated nurse and care giver.  At Taloga, OK. on May 20, 1968 Hettie was united in marriage to Jacob Stanley Stevens.  She brought two children to this marriage, Charles Coram and Treva Coram.  Jacob and Hettie resided in southeastern OK. in the community of Non, OK. and upon retirement they moved to Coalgate, OK.  Following the loss of Jacob in 2016, Hettie returned to Vici, OK. to be close to her family.

Hettieā€™s favorite hobby was quilting, an art that she learned from her Grandma Buck.  She made numerous beautiful quilts, taking great pride in quilting each one by hand.   She also enjoyed raising Maltese dogs.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Purl and Ruby Cain, her husband of 48 years, Jacob Stevens, her daughters, Treva Hendrix and Donna Sue Vest and her son Everett Ray Coram.  Her sister, Carmen Carol Cain and other loved ones.She is survived by her son Charles Coram of Vici, OK., two sisters Creola Nebhut of Amarillo, TX. and Karen Stephenson of Muskogee, OK. and her brother John Cain and wife, Leslie of Vici, OK. Four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, numerous other relatives and friends.
