Mayzel Salisbury, 76 year old Woodward, OK resident, passed from this life on June 24, 2016 at the Alliance Health Hospital in Woodward. Mayzel was born September 29, 1939 to Troy and Zelma (Trissel) Phillips in Mooreland, OK. She lived in Mooreland until age ten when the family moved to Woodward. Mayzel attended Mooreland grade schools until fifth grade and then attended Woodward public schools.
On June 28, 1956 Mayzel married Dennis Dale “Hop” Salisbury in Clayton, NM and to this union two sons were born Monte and Danny. Mayzel and Hop resided a short time in Vici, OK before Hop was stationed in Stuttgart, Germany. They resided in Germany for a year and a half before moving back to Vici and in 1986 Mayzel and Hop moved to Woodward, OK were they have resided since. Mayzel enjoyed cooking, watching OU football, Thunder basketball, horse racing, and spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by her friends and family.
Mayzel is preceded in death by her parents Troy and Zelma Phillips and one sister Bonnie Lou Phillips.
She is survived by her husband of the home Dennis “Hop” Salisbury of Woodward, OK; two sons Danny Salisbury and wife Cheryl Faye of Woodward, OK and Monte Salisbury of Las Vegas, NV; daughter-in-law Cheryl Ann Salisbury of San Antonio, TX; four grandchildren Ashlie Salisbury of Moore, OK, Cody Salisbury of Weston, CO, Ginger (Salisbury) Levesque and husband Eli of Las Vegas, NV, Winston Salisbury of Las Vegas, NV; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
