Rhonda Sue (McGehee) Morris was born on January 7, 1960 to Paul Vernon McGehee and Goldie Marie (Bowker) McGehee in Clifton, Colorado. Rhonda was the baby sister to Carol, Paul, Donna, Linda and Gary. Rhonda attended Clifton schools until her senior year where she graduated from Olathe High School. Rhonda had many special childhood friends including Iva Morris, who later became her sister-in-law. Rhonda loved the many family outings to go rock hunting and picnicking. She was always bringing rocks home and was so proud of her “treasures.”

On July 6, 1975 Rhonda was baptized by her big brother Paul into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn. Rhonda married John Morris on October 7, 1978 at Delta, Colorado and enjoyed 29 years together. Because of years of family acquaintances and sharing the same commitment to the church, their lives were connected from childhood. On March 8, 1981 John and Rhonda had daughter Robin, and three and a half years later, on November 4, 1984, had son, Riley. The family lived in the Delta and Grand Junction area until the fall of 1987 when they moved to Vici, which has been their home since.

On August 28, 1999, John and Rhonda gained another son when Robin married Clay Hodges. On December 23, 2002 they were blessed with the birth of granddaughter, Allison. On December 16, 2004 grandson, Ethan, was added to the family. “Nana” loved spending time with her grandkids and they got so excited when they got to go stay with Nana and Papa. She also enjoyed spending time with Riley’s girlfriend Sheilene and her daughter, Cali.

Rhonda loved to make quilts. Anytime a niece or nephew had a baby they knew they would get one of Aunt Rhonda’s “puff” quilts. She was very good at embroidering and would do it often to relax. Rhonda enjoyed being involved in secret sisters and was always looking for special things to give to hers. She was a good cook and enjoyed feeding her family, friends, and brethren. Rhonda looked forward to every holiday, but Easter and Halloween were her very favorite. She loved helping children color Easter eggs, and giving them special Halloween treats.

Rhonda was best known for her kind and meek manor. She always wanted everyone to be happy and never wanted to hurt anyone’s feelings. She was very unselfish, always putting others before herself.

Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Goldie McGehee; sister, Carol Morris; and brothers-in-law, David Young and Leroy Morris.

Rhonda is survived by her husband John of Vici; daughter, Robin and husband Clay Hodges of Oklahoma City, OK; son, Riley of Blanchard, OK; grandchildren, Allison and Ethan Hodges of Oklahoma City, OK; brother, Paul McGehee and wife Beverly of Grand Junction, CO; sisters, Donna McCracken and husband Wendell of Paoli, OK, and Linda Morris and husband Merl of Grand Junction, CO; brother, Gary McGehee and wife Linda of Delta, Co; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a number of family and friends. Services were held Tuesday, October 30, 2007 in the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn, Vici, Oklahoma with burial following in Sunnyside Cemetery. Services arranged by Shaw Funeral Home, Vici, Oklahoma. Condolences may be made at shawfuneralhome.net.
