Matilda Ann "Tillie" Morris McGehee, 85 year old from Grand Junction, Colorado, died on January 23, 2016 at her son's home. Tillie was born, July 16, 1930 at Manson, Washington to Lee Bellew and Matilda (Glackin) Bellew. Matilda, the sixth oldest of twelve surviving siblings, spent her childhood with her itinerant family from Washington state to Colorado, where her family settled in the Delta, Colorado area. She was baptized into the Church of the Firstborn on January 21, 1946 at Delta. She married Charles Alvin Morris of Vici, Oklahoma on July 10, 1947. To this union was born four children; Beverly Ann, Ronald Dwain, Gregory Wayne and Jerry Layne. Alvin and Matilda lived in Delta, Colorado, Sacramento, California and Grand Junction, Colorado as they were raising their family. Matilda became a widow for the first time in1982 when she lost Alvin to illness. She and Jerry lived in Oklahoma for several years following this tragedy where she worked for a time at Bud's Market in Vici. They returned to Delta again where she eventually married Paul V. McGehee in 1994. Paul and she lived in Vici for several years until she was once again widowed in 2003 upon Paul's demise.

Matilda "Grandma Tillie" was blessed with 17 grand children, 26 great-grand children, and 5 great-great grand children, accomplishing the feat of having 5 generations alive and well at the same time.

She was preceded in death by: both parents; husband Alvin, brothers; Harding Bellew, Paul Bellew, Louis Bellew, Zeke Bellew, and Leeallen Bellew: sisters; Lois Shamburg Hotts and Kareth Easter: husband Paul McGehee. She also was preceded in death by two grand children; Dawn Marie Morris and Tony Brent Morris.

She is survived by her children: Bev McGehee (Grand Junction, Colorado), Ron Morris (Redvale, Colorado), Greg Morris (Clifton, Colorado) and Jerry Morris (Agra, Oklahoma): sisters; Sara Bocook Smith (Olympia, Washington), Betty Carner (Delta, Colorado), Ina Higgins (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) and Mary Gillis (Centerville, Missouri).

Tillie struggled for several years against a cruel enemy, but triumphed in the end, never losing her love of God. In the words of her sister, she gets to rest beside the love of her life until the Lord takes her home. She will be missed by all that knew her; we'll miss her caring nature, her radiant smile, her biscuits and gravy, and cherry pie. Most of all we'll miss her praying for us.
