JERRY LYNN LOGSDON

October 09, 1946 - May 30, 2018

Jerry Lynn Logsdon was born October 9, 1946 at Woodward, OK. He was the youngest of five children born to John L. Logsdon and Nettie Mae (Allen) Logsdon. He passed from this life May 30, 2018 at the Vici Nursing Home at the age of 71.

Jerry grew up in the Vici community and being the baby of the family, he received plenty of instructions. He was a 12 year graduate of Vici Public School, receiving his diploma with the graduating class of 1964.

On July 9, 1964 Jerry was united in marriage to Sandy Wilson at Woodward, OK. They were blessed with two children, Gerald Lynn and Tama June.

The oilfield was Jerry’s chosen occupation and he was employed at the Champlin refinery while living at Enid, OK and continued oilfield employment upon his return to Vici, OK. His special interests included, baseball, watching old western movies, fishing and hunting, a good bird dog was a must. He enjoyed dancing and was a fan of music from the 50’s and 60’s, his favorites being Elvis Presley and country music. Time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren, was very special to him and he was always ready for a good visit with his friends.

Jerry was a regular contributor to the children of Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch, Father Flannigan’s Boys Town, Shriners Children’s hospital and Feed the Children, organizations he felt would benefit someone in need.

At the age of 20, Jerry was baptized and became a member of the Vici First Christian Church, he was also a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nettie Logsdon, his brother, Gene Logsdon, his sister Johnnie Mae Freed and two nephews, Rex and Doug Moore.

He is survived by his son Gerald Lynn Logsdon and wife Heather of Mesquite, TX., daughter Tama Shannon and husband Mike of Wichita Falls, TX. Five grandchildren, Justin Shannon and wife Meagan, Tori Davis and husband Anthony, Joshua Lynn Logsdon and wife Rebecca all of Wichita Falls, TX., Caleb Logsdon and Gabby Brasel of Mesquite, TX., two great grandchildren, Aria Belle Shannon and Nathaniel Lynn Logsdon of Wichita Falls, TX. Two brothers, Bill Logsdon and Jimmie Logsdon and wife Kathy both of Amarillo, TX., brother in law, Merlin Freed, three nieces, Gayle, Karen and Lisa, two nephews, Larry and Curtis, other relatives and a host of friends.
