Funeral services for Donald Hugh House 79 year old former Woodward, Oklahoma resident will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 in the First Christian Church at 2:00 P.M. in Thomas, Oklahoma with David Beck officiating

Woodward, Okla. — Funeral services for Donald Hugh House 79 year old former Woodward, Oklahoma resident will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 in the First Christian Church at 2:00 P.M. in Thomas, Oklahoma with David Beck officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunnyside Cemetery in Vici, Oklahoma under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home of Thomas.

Don was born to Jim and Nora (Brooks) House on December 25, 1934 in Waldron, Arkansas and passed from this life on July 5, 2014 at his home in Thomas, Oklahoma. Don grew up in Waldron, Arkansas where he attended a small country school and completed 1st - 10th grades. Don left home at the age of 15 years old with $ 15.00 dollars, his guitar, and an old Chevy car. His destination California, but he only made it as far as Tucumcari, New Mexico. Don landed in a few other places such as Wichita, Kansas, Dalhart, Texas, and Des Moines, New Mexico. He meet the love of his life, Angelina Coslett in Des Moines.

Don and Angie moved to Woodward, Oklahoma in the early 60’s, where their life began as a family to this union two young boys became brothers, Robert Eugene (Bobby) House and Delbert Lee (Coslett) House and a sister to the boys born in 1969, Rosetta Colleen House. Don and Angie started their own home improvement business in Woodward selling siding and windows for 37 years. During this time Don’s love for music continued as he played his guitar numerous places in Northwest Oklahoma for many years, they also farmed. Don loved a good action especially when he could buy a tractor or two even three.

In 2000, Don and Angie retired from the siding and window business and moved from Woodward to Thomas, Oklahoma. In June of 2006, Don started a lifelong dream of his, he opened up the “Thomas Country Opry”, a theater type music show where talented musicians came together to play and sing. Don had some of the best of the best upon that stage Thomas Country Opry and was open for 7 ˝ years. Along with Dons music talent brought great honors and rewards. Don was inducted into two different western Swing Hall of Fames one in Sacramento, California and one in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

He is survived by his loving wife, Angelina (Coslett) of Thomas, Oklahoma; one son, Bob House and his wife, Peggy of Columbia, South Carolina; one daughter, Colleen (House) Hill and her husband, Barry of Vici, Oklahoma; one daughter-in-law, Lesa (House) Johnson of Mooreland Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, Beverly, Cody, Kylie, Hilary, Heather, Heidi, Emily, Josh and Norah; six great-grandchildren, Bretin, Katelyn, Amara, Alana, Kyson and Natalee; one sister, Barbara Barnett of Waldron, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Nora House; one son, Delbert House; one grandson, Kevin House two sisters, Freddie and Jimmie; two brothers, Dave, and Chuck.

Don was a great man, a wonderful husband, father, Papa, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed.
