Woodward, Okla. — Ida Pauline (Whitehead) Hickman was born on December 20, 1919 to Lester and Myrtle (Hunter) Whitehead in Dewey County, Oklahoma and passed over to heaven on February 17, 2011 at Yellville, Arkansas. She was 91 years of age.
Pauline was raised in the Camp Creek area and attended school at Valley Center. On December 11, 1937, she married Burton Hickman. They lived and farmed in the Lenora, Oklahoma area and were blessed with two sons and four daughters.
Pauline was very active in the Lenora Methodist Church. When they retired, the couple moved to Vici, Oklahoma. Their new church home was established at the Vici United Methodist Church, where Pauline continued to be active. They later moved to Enid, Oklahoma and after Burton passed on, she moved to Yellville, Arkansas where she lived until the time of her death.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Burton Hickman, daughter, Marilee Hood, parents, Lester and Myrtle Whitehead, two brothers and one sister.
Those left to cherish her memory are sons, Wendal Hickman of Portland, Oregon, Eldon Hickman and wife Billie of Woodward, Oklahoma; daughters, Linda Jones of Lead Hill, Arkansas, Kathy Payne and husband Chuck of Enid, Oklahoma, Patti Boepple and husband Randall of Trinidad, Colorado; brother, Wayne Whitehead of Medford, Oregon; grandsons, Steven, William, Johnnie Bert, Donnie, Ronnie, Chris, Blain, Matthew, Jeff and Chris; granddaughters, Amanda, Beth, Sally, Loretta, Tracy, Stacy, Toni, Shannon and Felicity; 17 great-grandchildren, other family and many dear friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 21, 2011, in the First United Methodist Church, Vici, OK with burial following in Riley Cemetery. Services arranged by Shaw Funeral Home, Vici, Oklahoma. Condolences may be made to the family at shawfuneralhome.net.
