CLAUDE COLUMBUS CLARK, JR.

May 15, 1933 - November 30, 2017

Claude Columbus Clark Jr., 84 year old resident of Mutual, OK, passed away on November 30, 2017. Claude was born on May 15, 1933 in Obar, New Mexico, to Claude and Earle Hanson Clark. He graduated from high school at Nara Visa, New Mexico, before being drafted by the U.S. Army on May 22, 1953, serving as a Private E-1. On January 26, 1955, Claude was honorably discharged after serving in the Korean Conflict. Before his discharge he had attained the rank of Sergeant, and was distinguished with a National Defense Service Medal, a UN Service Medal, and a Korean Service Medal.

On February 14, 1956, Claude met his future wife Christine Elaine Moss through mutual friends. They were united in marriage on June 16, 1957, in Clayton, NM, and to this union of 54 wonderful years together, four daughters were born: Karren Renee, Kimberly Denise, Kelly Anita and Tracey Diane. Claude and Christine made their first home of five years in Dalhart, TX, then moved to Woodward, OK, while waiting to move to their farm near Sharon, OK, where they resided for 20 years. They moved to Mutual, OK in the summer of 1982 while they built their final home 5 miles south of Mutual.

Claude was the owner and operator of an electrical business for many years. He especially enjoyed refurbishing and driving his vintage vehicles, having a visit and a cup of coffee with his friends at the Vici Quick Stop, and special time with his grandchildren, attending sports and performances, and during hunting season.

Claude was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn. After many years of faithfulness, Claude was ordained a deacon in the Vici Assembly. As deacon, he was quick to help members of the flock in their times of need, and he was quick to let the brethren know when someone was in need of prayer. He kept the Faith until his death.

Claude was a farmer, family man, and a good friend. He put his all into his work, and would never go half-way. He loved every one of his children and grandchildren dearly. He had a charity for all, and always took good care of those that were in need. Most importantly of all, he loved his Savior and the family of God.

Claude is preceded in death by his parents Claude and Earle Clark; wife Christine Elaine; daughter Kelly Anita; grandchild Bethany LaNae; son-in-law Marty Evans; two brothers, Donald Clark and wife Ada, and Billie Clark and wife Kay; two sisters, Marjorie Mounts and husband Cecil, and Joyce Russell; brothers-in-law, Wesley Moss and wife Marie, Donald Moss and wife Evelyn, Gerald Moss, and Laverle Moss; sisters-in-law, Theda Cramer and husband Ralph, Theo Randolph and husband Ernie, Josephine McAlary and husband Denver, Ophelia Moss, Vivian White and husband Lewis, Elsie Dean Lee and husband Floyd, and Etta Nere and husband Ralph.

He is survived by his daughters, Karren Kemerley and husband Mark of Mustang, OK, Kim Evans of Brewster, WA, Tracey Zwink and husband Jason of Woodward, OK; seven grandsons, Brandon McNeill and wife Melody of Mancos, CO, Dakota McNeill and wife Alicia of Perkins, OK, Dawson McNeill and wife Hayley of Perkins, OK, Chandler McNeill and wife Katie of Parkland, OK, Lance Evans and wife Katarina of Brewster, WA, and Tyler and Parker Zwink of Woodward , OK; one granddaughter Veronica Zwink of Woodward, OK; two great-granddaughters Elliott and Sawyer McNeill of Perkins, OK; one great-grandson Oliver McNeill of Perkins, OK; sister-in-law Ramona Moss of Mustang, OK, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of brethren and friends.
