Woodward, Okla. — Betty Jean Icenogle Baker was born May 24, 1943, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Arthur and Emma Josephine Icenogle. She passed from this life on April 14, 2011 at her home southeast of Vici, Oklahoma.

Betty attended the first grade in Indiana. Then the family moved to Elmonte, California where she continued her education until moving to Vici at the age of thirteen. She attended one year at Vici Public Schools.

On December 26, 1957 at fourteen Betty married William Conrad (Connie) Baker. To this union five children were born: Patti, Penny, Lorri, Kari and Toby. The couple traveled four years then settled in Woodward, Oklahoma, where their first daughter Patti was born. The family moved to Vici, Oklahoma and daughter Penny was born. In 1970 they moved to the family farm where the youngest three children were born, Lorri, Kari, and Toby. Betty would farm with the old two cylinder John Deer tractor all day while Connie worked in Woodward. After work Connie would run the tractor at night and Betty would ride on the fender just to spend time with him and keep him awake.

She was a devoted wife and mother. Betty cared for Kari for many years before God called Kari home in 1989. Betty loved and enjoyed all 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. One of her favorite memories was taking care of the garden with Derrick. Betty loved making flower arrangements, and she and Connie together built their flower business “Betty’s Bouquets.”

Out of love for the brethren and community Betty catered to each person like they were her own family. She had many fond memories of traveling and spending time with Connie on trips to the Caribbean and Alaska. In 1963 Betty and Connie both were baptized in the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn at the Baker family pond, by Brother Harvey Randall.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Icenogle and Emma Josephine Dulyea, daughter, Kari Baker, grandson, Derrick Rossiter, two great-grandchildren, Ashlyn and Dylon Bates, infant brother and sister, Jackie and Brenda, in-laws, Virgil and Clara Baker, two sisters-in-law; Edna Longfellow and Velma Lund and two brothers-in-law, Bud Salisbury and Alvie Baker.

She is survived by her loving husband, Connie Baker of the home, three daughters, Patti Branson and husband Robyn of Vici, Oklahoma, Penny Gregory and husband Lynn of Vici, Oklahoma, Lorri Lund and husband Jeremy of Clinton, Oklahoma; son, Toby Baker and wife Cara of Vici, Oklahoma; sixteen grandchildren, Crissa Bailey and husband Bill, Cachly Lund and husband Dustin, Coy Branson and fiancée Megan, Shaela Shreeves and husband Christopher, Heidi Gregory, Amber Clothier and husband Jerith, Lynn Gregory Jr., Broady Gregory, Leah Baker and Lilly Baker, Bret Lund and wife Aleshia, Alisha Mohite and husband Shashank, Mikayla Rossiter, Aspen Baker, McKenzie Baker and Sarah Baker; nine great-grandchildren; sister Pat Dorn and husband Chuck, three brothers, Sam Longfellow, Bill Icenogle and wife Betty, Rich Icenogle and wife Francis, sister-in-law, Joan Salisbury, who Betty regarded as her sister; many nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends and brethren.
