Funeral services for Morris Willis, 83, of Canton, OK will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Canton with Rev. Travis McIntosh and Rev. Mike McReynolds officiating. Interment will follow in Riley Cemetery under the direction of Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, Canton. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday evening at the funeral home.
Morris Willis was born July 31, 1930 in the Camp Creek Community of Dewey County, OK to Floyd LeRoy and Rosa (Mercer) Willis. He departed this life on Friday, March 28, 2014 at Oklahoma City, OK.
Morris attended school at Taloga and Leedey. He married MaDonna Harvey on March 2, 1961 at Woodward, OK. He served our country during the Korean Conflict and was a Purple Heart recipient. Morris worked for many years at the Gold Spot Dairy in Enid. He enjoyed quail hunting, O.U. Sooner football and Thunder basketball. Morris loved his family and grandchildren.
Morris was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Willis and Rosa Taylor; two brothers, Harold Willis and Everett Willis; one son Randy Morrison; Survivors include his wife, MaDonna Willis of the home; six children, daughter Marilyn Reed of Woodward, OK, daughter Melinda Rollins of Plainview, TX, daughter Marsha Kearns of Shattuck, OK, son Rory Willis of Yukon, OK, daughter Lynda Barnes of Bakersfield, CA and son Richard Morrison of Enid, OK; sister Mary Ann Spake of Vici, OK and brother Don Willis of Wellston, OK.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project through the funeral home at P.O. Box 36, Canton, OK 73724. Condolences may be made online at www.haiglerpierce.com.
