Kenneth Lee Boggs

Kenneth Lee Boggs
June 01, 1948 ~ April 10, 2020

Kenneth Lee Boggs was born June 1st, 1948 to Virgil and Octavia Boggs in Clinton, Oklahoma and passed from this life on April 10th, 2020.

He grew up on his family farm, and attended Leedey Public School where he graduated in 1966. Kenny attended a year in college at SWOSU in Weatherford, Oklahoma and then was drafted into the United States Army in 1968. While serving in Vietnam as an infantryman he reached the rank of specialist. In 1970, he was honorably discharged with a Purple Heart. After returning home from Vietnam, he continued farming and then began working in the oil field. During this time he also drove stock cars, number 87 and raced in Elk City, Oklahoma.

During the Fall in 1980, he met the love of his life Debbie. On March 27th, 1981 he and Debbie were united in marriage and resided in Leedey. To this union brought 6 children, 17 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Kenny then began his career with the Dewey County District 1 as a heavy equipment operator. he remained with the county and as of April 8, 2020 he had been with them for 39 years. Kenny loved farming and did this for his entire life. This was his passion, he would take daily trips to the farm, even when there was nothing to be done. He loved his cattle, and horses as well as the many hours he spent on the tractor. His family meant everything to him, and spending time with his grandkids was his whole world. Kenny loved motorsports, especially sprint cars and drag racing. he also enjoyed watching RFDTV, cattle auctions.

Kenny is proceeded in death by his mother Octavia, father Virgil, sister Joyce Lee, brother Leon Boggs, and grandson Drexel Lee Boggs. He is survived by his wife Debbie Boggs of Leedey, daughter Dawn Hernandez and husband Martin and family of Leedey. Daughter Billie Young and husband Robert and family of Bentonville, Arkansas. Son Jason Boggs and wife Amanda and family of Leedey. Son Kenneth Boggs of Lakeview, Washington. Daughter Katrina Mercado and sons Tyler and Eli of Leedey. Son James Boggs and wife Sydney and family of Fayettville, Arkansas. Sister Regina Hicks and husband Leon and family of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

He will be loved and missed by a host of family, friends, and co-workers.
