Juanita “Cotton” Williams former resident of Southard, Oklahoma passed away in Perry, Oklahoma at Green Valley Nursing Home, where she had been a resident since January 2020. She was 100 years old. Cotton was born July 28, 1922 in Oakwood, Oklahoma to Carl and Nettie Marshall. She was 1 of 8 daughters. Cotton graduated from Oakwood High School in 1940.
Cotton was a Rosie the Riveter in OKC at McDonnell Douglas during WWII. It was in OKC where she met a handsome man from California. Clarence “Chuck” Williams was in the Army Air Corp. They were married on December 25, 1945.
Cotton and Chuck were parents of 4 children, Larry Eugene, Billy Carl, Sharron Ann and Regina Ellen.
Cotton was a great mom and was always involved in her children’s activities. She worked at USG for many years. In later years Cotton put in a lot of miles walking on the side of Highway 51 near their home.
Cotton was preceded in death by her husband Clarence “Chuck” Williams after 60 years of marriage and her sons Larry and Bill Williams. Cotton was survived by her daughters Sharron Fauchier and husband Vaughn and Regina Galfetti; grandchildren Lil Darlins, Gina Graham and Danielle Bird, Chris Galfetti, Hannah Turner and husband Conner; her baby sister Maxine Hort and numerous, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at the Oakwood Auditorium with Minister Shane Sander officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Pierce Funeral Home, Canton. Condolences may be made online at www.piercefuneralhomes.com.
