The graveside service for Loyd Edward “Eddie” Lasiter, 75, of Watonga will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Oakwood I.O.O.F. Memorial Cemetery with Chaplain Randy Weaver officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, Canton.
Loyd Edward Lasiter was born March 19, 1936 at Pierce, OK to George and Willie (Jones) Lasiter. He passed away peacefully on September 19, 2011.
He was united in marriage to Bonnie Mae Wooten on January 5, 1954 in Carlsbad, NM. They resided in Roswell, NM for 20 years and moved to Watonga, OK in 1974 where they made their home until the time of his death. He worked for the Dept. of Transportation for 20 years in Watonga, where he retired in 1996. Eddie’s hobbies were making western leather crafts and gardening.
He is survived by three children, Debra Morgan and husband Jim of Roswell, NM, Terry Lee Lasiter and wife Rita of Watonga, OK and Tammy Davis of Mountain View, OK; thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; four brothers, Doyle Lasiter of Watonga, OK, Calvin Lasiter of Artesia, NM, Jim Lasiter of Dexter, NM and Tim Lasiter of Texico, NM; three sisters, Opal Licon of Albuquerque, NM, Letha Hill of Artesia, NM and Rita Pendergraft of Roswell, NM; He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Bonnie Lasiter, son Terry Edward Lasiter, two brothers, Euel Lasiter and Boyd Red Lasiter and two sisters, Dorothy Brack and Betty Evans.
