Mona Marie (McAlister) Prickett
January 12, 1939 ~ December 28, 2020

Mona Marie Prickett, 81, of Canton, OK passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020 at Countrywood Assisted Living Center in Kingfisher, OK. Mona was born the fifth child of Leonard and Lela McAlister on January 12, 1939 at Fay, OK. She grew up at Fay and graduated from Fay High School before earning her Masters Degree in business with a minor in home economics from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1964.

Mona married Oral Gale Prickett in June of 1959. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Canton. Mona taught at Lomega High School. She enjoyed sewing, catering, stained glassing and putting on and directing many plays and programs throughout her life. She cooked for the kids at Falls Creek youth camp for many years.

Mona was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Gale Prickett; infant daughter Glenna Gayle; four sisters, Lois Londagin, Jessie “Lovella” Gray, Verna DeBock and Hazel “Nadene” Smith; her mother and father-in-law Leona and Benjamin Prickett; She is survived by her son, Tommy Prickett and wife Phyllis; grandchildren Austin Prickett and wife Kylin, Benjamin Prickett and Carlea Prickett; great-grandchildren Kylie, Deakyn and Kamri Prickett; sister-in-law Karen Jean Prickett; niece Lela Spangler, whom she considered a sister, and several great-nieces and nephews; many extended family and a multitude of friends.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Mount Hope Cemetery with Keith Robinett officiating. Memorials may be made to the Fay Community Association with the funeral home serving as custodian at P.O. Box 36, Canton, OK 73724. Condolences may be made online at www.piercefuneralhomes.com.
