Glenda Blanche Morris

On August 20, 1930, Glenda Blanche (Wilson) Morris was born on the farm near Okeene, Oklahoma, to Loyd and Della (Seneker) Wilson. She passed from this life September 24, 2010 at the Vici Nursing Home. She was 80 years of age.

Glenda grew up on the farm and graduated from Okeene High School with the Class of 1949. She was united in marriage to Melvin Leroy Morris on February 13, 1950 at Enid, Oklahoma. The couple lived most of their married life in Oklahoma with short stays in Colorado and Nevada. This union was blessed with six children: Roy, Daniel, Mike, Keith, Kenneth and Diane.

Glenda enjoyed sewing, quilting and gardening. Her greatest joy came from taking care of her family. She was a true homemaker who also enjoyed her work at the Taloga School System as both a bus driver and serving students in the school cafeteria. She was baptized into the Taloga Assembly of God Church where she was a member and Sunday School Teacher for many years.

Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, Loyd and Della Wilson; brothers, Arlynd Wilson, Llewellyn Wilson and Eldon Wilson; and infant twin granddaughters, Lori and Lisa Morris.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 60 years, Leroy Morris; sons, Roy Morris and wife Margaret of Taloga, Oklahoma, Daniel Morris and wife Vickie of Haslett, Texas, Mike Morris and wife Cathy of Vici, Oklahoma, Keith Morris of Vici, Oklahoma, Kenneth Morris of Wilburton, Oklahoma; one daughter, Diane Jones and husband Joe of Taloga, Oklahoma; sisters, Wilma Fielder of VanBuren, Arkansas, Edith Francis of Moore, Oklahoma, Velda McEachern of Enid, Oklahoma, Georgia Pavlu and husband Frances of Okeene, Oklahoma and Rose Kocher and husband Walt of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one brother-in-law, Freddie Morris and wife Luella of Vici, Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, other family and a host of friends.
