KENDALL KEITH HICKMAN, son of Kenneth and Freda (Lanz) Hickman, was born June 2, 1940 in Taloga, Oklahoma. He departed this life on Monday, January 7, 2013 at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 72 years.
Kendall began his school years in Taloga and when he was a second grader, the family moved to Oregon where he completed his formal education and graduated from high school in Coburg, Oregon in 1958. He was united in marriage to Audrey Mae Hamelstrom in 1959 in Oregon where they made their home. To this union, three children were born, Pamela Jane, Kimberly Ann and Randall Keith. Kendall worked in the lumber industry in Oregon. He was preceded in death by his wife Audrey, December 11, 1964. On August 19, 1967, he was united in marriage to Cheryl Rose Adams in Springfield, Oregon. They lived in Oregon and later moved to Alaska where Kendall was a heavy equipment operator. In the early 1990's they moved to Taloga where they have continued to make their home. Kendall was a road grader operator for Dewey County District 1. Even after retirement, he continued to work part time for the county which was a job he enjoyed. In his earlier years, he liked to fish and hunt. He also liked riding motorcycles. He and Cheryl took several long motorcycle trips together. He enjoyed watching old western movies, especially those featuring John Wayne. Kendall and Cheryl attended the Taloga Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife Cheryl Hickman and his daughter Pam Seal and her husband Greg all of Taloga, seven grandchildren: Randy and Keith Allen Hickman, Kandy and Brandon Drain, Justin, Kristopher and Amanda Seal; seven great grandchildren and one brother, Don Hickman and wife Carolyn of Seiling. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends. Besides his first wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter Kim in 1983, his son Randall in 1992 and his parents.
Closed casket services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the Taloga Christian Church with Pastor Curtis Cox, officiating. Interment will follow in the Mound Cemetery at Taloga under the direction of the Redinger Funeral Home in Seiling.
